Leaves are Pretty Too | Rex-Cultorum Begonia

You may be familiar with the flowery, showy (and darn fragile) Rieger Begonia found at your local garden center - but look a little deeper and you might fall in love with these pretties. I don't think that I will ever see this Rex-Cultorum Begonia bloom, but I don't care - its the leaves that get me itching to cut them up and tuck them into every arrangement I can! (...and so it goes...)

(PS. I have managed to keep this baby alive for an entire Month, even though I have been hacking away at it; Masochistic little guy! #ImNotABonsai)

Hellebore Heaven | Hello Lovies!

There are a few questions as a floral decorator that I often hear:
1. Could you tell me how to take care of this (inset name here) plant? Sadly no. I am a florist - I cut things down and kill them for a living. I replace my own houseplants once a week. Either they are all suicidal or I have a black thumb.
2. What is your favorite flower? This one I have a better shot at! My feelings on particular flowers wax and wane with the seasons - so right now I am gaga over one of my all time favorites: meet Helleborus Argutifolius.

I can barely stand how pretty they are to me; and who doesn't like a little danger? Many species are poisonous. I love how they tip their heads and the way the Carpels swell as the flower develops. Hellebore are botanically very special for many reasons - including being "Self-fertile" - you should check out why here!
These babies above and the next two below came from my sister's garden and were quickly attacked my moi (see above #1) and now our kitchen and bathrooms look amazing!
They come in many shades of green to burgundy - all gorgeous. Expect to see these in my Spring designs while they last!

You can all keep your Snow Crocus'; I know Spring is really here when these babies show up in the garden!

Berger Bat Mitzvah | Mitzvah Market Spotlight

What a great to surprise to open my email this morning and see that Sydney's Bat Mitzvah was highlighted on MitzvahMarket.Com today! I was introduced to the Berger Family by Ann Marie Casey when Sydney's brother Jacob celebrated his Bar Mitzvah at the National Constitution Center. So I was so delighted when Ann Marie was the photographer for this event Social Media Themed party. Some of the amazing photos she shot of the details are captured in the MitzvahMarket.Com spotlight - but here is a sneak peek of some of the table details!
And those are just the tip of the iceberg! The Please Touch Museum is the incredible venue where the party was hosted, On Q Productions did the Lighting and Draping, and Brûlée Catering served up amazing food from start to finish. And...as if that wasn't enough - check out this amazing intro film created for Sydney's entrance by CinemaCake!

Check out all of the other amazing details from the invitations to the cake at MitzvahMarket.Com - Thanks for the shout out MM!

I am so delighted to help coordinate their day so they and their family can revel in the day. This might be one of the simplest most lovely engagement shots ever...Congratulations and Best Wishes! More to follow as the day unfolds!

Style Studio | Clematis

Meet Clematis (KLEma-tis)! A little climbing pretty with a name that sounds like a disease, but sits within the buttercup family. As fresh cut flowers they have been showing up at the market in whites, pinks, lavenders, purple and a gorgeous red (you may have seen that in an earlier post!)  Winter hosts a beautiful window where the Bush Ivy has berries showing - I couldn't resist nestling them with a few Garden Roses. Clematis lends itself so well to a natural cascade - I finished it off with some hanging Amaranthus in green. It practically made itself. With pretties like these, I might just make it to Spring!
Thank you so much Sofia Negron Photography for shooting this for me!

Style Me Pretty | Kate and Luke SMP Featured Wedding

How ironic that I sit down to catch the Campbell Studios Blog up on all the fun we have been having this summer only to find that one of my favorite sites "Style Me Pretty" picked up the submission CinemaCake and BUPhotography submitted of Kate and Luke's wedding this past May! They were one of the last posts I wrote, what a great way to start the week!

Campbell Studios did all of the Event Design and Wedding Coordination - it was such a pleasure to pull together Kate and Luke's personal sense of style for their big day! From Kate's gorgeous Junko Yoshioka gown to the long reception tables (a first at the Union League!) filled with all white open Peonies, Hydrangea and Roses - the wedding had details specific to them at each turn.
You can check out the wonderful write up by Mallory by clicking "Style Me Pretty Little Black Book" and check out more of Bernadette's images from the wedding by checking out the "Style Me Pretty - Bridal Inspirations." If you have a minute to add a comment I would love to know what you think, and any activity keeps Kate and Luke visible so more people like you can check it out!

Katy Goodman | The Please Touch Museum

Katy and Jeff  found me via Sofia Negron - their photographer, and we hit it off from the start! The Wedding and Reception were both held at The Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia. Various shades of reds made up the color pallet - all developing from the 'Red Majestic' callas in her bouquet...(which ended up not being as red as anticipated; but a call earlier in the week to the bride to talk about color assured all that it would balance out the red bridesmaids perfectly - and it did!) The colors flowed through the event beautifully.
The silver foiled containers gave consistency to both the centerpiece designs, while the red napkins brought the signature color to the edge of the table.

I love the way Sofia catches moments like this, when you are not looking at the camera - but are truly in the moment..

Check out more of Sofia's details in this sneak peak slideshow below!

(Thank You Sofia!)

Please Touch Museum Wedding Open House 1/20/2010

The Please Touch Museum hosted their bridal open house earlier in the month & I was happy to see so many of you there! Campbell Studios is decorated a few tables, so prospective & current clients could get a feel for the room decorated, Max and Me Catering served up good eats, answered questions and my gal pal Sofia Negron was there. She was showcasing her gorgeous wedding albums! Here are a few shots she got of my tables, enjoy!
